I think Cro Cop needed leverage with Dream and Dana needed someone to put asses in seats. Apparantly tickets weren't selling well until Cro Cop came on the card. With Dream he can squeeze in 2 fights before a fight NYE. In the UFC his next fight would be december. His next fights should be Lebanner, Kharitonov and if he wins, Overeem or Fedor NYE.

It is a crazy story. I kinda hope he stays with UFC.. but whatever he wants is okay
I see one of his issues is he wants to fight alot whereas ufc you get 3 fights year as long as you win. Plus he wants winner of Nog/Randy, but that fight is 6 months from now at the earliest.
I thought he looked great last night. he took 5 leg kicks to the knee he operated and it didnt bug him at all. He could compete with anyone and has a chance at the title.

PS - ya, its total negotiations. He has leverage big time on Dana. He looked good and Dana wants him now.. but Mirkos going make him sweat. Its rare someone has leverage like this on Dana
Standard UFC contract says if you win your last fight. ufc automatically extends your contract so damn.. Mirkos got him

jutarnji.hr/sport/borilacki_sportovi/clanak/art-2009,6,14,,166592.jl"I'm not clear why White believed rumors instead of talking with me. I was hoping that we will talk about the continuation of cooperation, because the only contentious item for a long period between performances. I do not want to sit for months at home and wait for that someone to call me to fight, I would prefer to fight every 3 months. However, I am grateful for the opportunity White gave me in Cologne and in spite of his heavy words, I do not see reason why we can't come to an agreement - explained Mirko after returning from Germany"

from what I gather Dana and Mirko came to an agreement about 1 fight. The tickets were not selling well and that's what I expected considering that Germany is Klischko country. As soon as Cro Cop was added tickets were selling like hot cakes. From what I hear half the place was Croatian. Dana even said earlier that it's 1 fight and we'll talk about future fights. Dream fighters fight outside Japan so Affliction and Strikeforce are still a possibility. I just thinks that Cro Cop likes his freedom. In pride he was fighting 1 fight deals. He can fight 7 or 8 times by the end of 2010 in dream. He would be lucky to get 4 in that stretch. From Nov 2003 to the end of 2005 Cro Cop fought 13 times ( in 26 months ) . He's used to fighting when he wants. If Dana can gurentee him 3-4 fights a year maybe things would be different. Fortunal basically said that at the time Mirko didn't sign anything but Dana went crazy. I think he went crazy because he won't let Cro Cop fight as often as he likes and that he would be used to sell tickets for Europian shows. Can't wait to see how this unfolds.

Word also has it that CC was offered 3 fights over 2 years without a title shot. That's a long time between fights.

i want him to still fight in the ufc Dana will take whoever makes him money imo. If CC wins his 3 fights in Dream and looks sharp Dana would happily take him back. I think what made Dana so pissed is that he's loosing a big draw in Europe.
